Csaba Somos

He was born in  Szolnok in 1970.

He graduated as a pupil of Valér Jobbágy and Péter Erdei on solfege- mucic theory - choir conducting faculty at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in 1994. After he studied orchestra conducting with ervin lukács and Tamás Gál. In 1998 he got his second diploma as a orchestra conductor.

Since 1992 until 2010 with two years interruption - he was the choir leader of the Vasas Ensemble Choir.  In 2002, Mr. Somos  founded the Lajos Vass Chamber Choir. Recently he is the artistic director.

Since 2000 to 2004 he worked at the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen. He was the orchestra conductor and music director. After until 2007 he was also the music director at National Theatre in Pécs.

In 2002 he won a Rubányi prize.

He is guest orchestra leader and choirmaster of national orcehstras and choirs. He appearances including
Szakatai Philharmonic / Japan /, Salerno Philharmonic Orchestra / Italy /, Spain, Russia, Romania, Germany, Greece, Austria, Macedonia.

Since2009, he is the leading conductor of the Hungarian Radio Choir.
President from 2013 to Kota Arts Committee.

In 1998, started the co - operation with Dragony Tímea. The recording of her piece, Petőfi -cantata was conducted by Csaba Somos. Adrienn Miksch was a sopran soloist. The Béla Bartók Choir and the Szolnok  Symphony Orchestra performed with her on the recording. In 2011, the Hungarian Radio Choir interpretated another composition of Dragony -The Spring elation - at  Mini Festival Chorus concert led by Csaba Somos.
